How Do Core Refunds Work?

 

Your used or end-of-life electronics component is called a "core." When you purchase a Cat Reman product as a replacement, you can return your core to your local authorized Cat dealer for a core refund. That helps lower the cost of Cat Reman parts to a fraction of new.

Even if your core is damaged, you may still receive a partial core refund.3 That's because we can often remanufacture certain components, chips and wiring.

At our facilities, we inspect, salvage and remanufacture the core before it’s delivered to customers as a product with like new performance and quality.

It's a matter of quality, and Cat Reman core acceptance criteria helps us determine what makes the cut. Acceptable used core drives our supply chain and keeps our product line going. Once accepted, the core moves through the Cat Reman process, where it’s remanufactured and salvaged to perform like new. And while we have a set of standards that define our process, there’s a lot of flexibility in the type of core we accept.
