When an equipment part or engine component reaches the end of its lifecycle, customers can return it to their Cat dealer in exchange for core credit.1 The returned cores (i.e., used equipment components) are salvaged and remanufactured to match original Caterpillar performance specifications and critical Caterpillar engineering updates. Then, they re-enter the supply chain as Cat Reman products with like-new quality, including a same-as-new warranty.*

Beyond supplying customers with efficient parts, the Cat Reman process emits fewer greenhouse gases and consumes less energy and raw materials than the manufacture of new products.*

Through the remanufacture of used cores, the Cat Reman program provides valuable parts to customers when they need them. This helps us manage the health of the supply chain, allowing us to offer cost-effective price points across the Cat Reman product line while reducing scrap metal and other waste. 

Our sustainability efforts do more than meet shareholder demands and government regulations, they help customers maintain uptime.

1End-of-life core is eligible for total or partial credit if it is fully assembled and complete; it displays no non-operational damage; and it is not visibly cracked, broken or welded.
