COURSE DESCRIPTION

The 3500 Engine Rebuild ILT course is designed for both Cat® Diesel and Gas engines. The focus will be on engine overhauls, engine endplay and crankshaft deflection procedures, principles of visual inspection and reusability techniques applicable to engine components.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Upon completion of this training, the participant will be able to:

  • Perform a Top-End Overhaul
  • Perform a Major Overhaul
  • Perform engine end play and crankshaft deflection
  • Perform visual analysis and correct method to handle, protect, and store failed parts
  • Document key engine data to support later failure analysis report
  • Use the reusability guidelines to identify which component can be reused and under what conditions
