Service Life Extension Program (SLEP)
When a machine nears the end of its first lifecycle, the military's Service Life Extension Program (SLEP) gives machines a complete second lifecycle at a fraction of the cost of a new replacement. All work is performed at a local Cat dealer.

SLEP Process

This is an 815F machine that was SLEP rebuilt. Typically, this type of machine is done in under 95 days and costs half of what a new machine might cost.

Red River Army Depot (RRAD)

Located in Texarkana, Texas, RRAD is an Army Depot rebuild facility that performs the complete rebuilding of several models of military vehicles and large components or subsystems along with other construction equipment.

Caterpillar Defense provides close coordination of on-site technical support, rebuild parts kitting, engine diagnostic assistance/performance evaluation, and adjustment to support the Depot's programs. The Depot is also used for long-term storage and salvage of military equipment, ensuring efficient sustainability management and maintenance of critical assets.
