When it’s time to change your shank or bucket tips, efficiency matters. The Cat^® CapSure™ hammerless system uses a secure 180-degree retainer design that eliminates the need for hammers or pry tools, reducing risk and saving time on the jobsite. This durable retention system makes tip swaps simple and repeatable across a wide range of Cat machines.

CapSure Tips for Excavator Buckets

As you select CapSure tips for your excavator, keep your jobsite conditions top of mind.

Penetration Plus tips are a popular choice for many standard applications.
Heavy Duty or Heavy Penetration tips work well in tougher conditions.
Heavy Duty Abrasion tips are for more abrasive materials like sand, gravel and shot rock.

CapSure for Wheel Loader Buckets

Options for your wheel loader include bucket tips and sidebar protectors. Tips are designed for a range of jobsite conditions:

Heavy Duty Abrasion for sand, gravel and shot rock.
Heavy Penetration for high-impact, hard-to-penetrate materials.
Heavy Duty tips can be considered the baseline options.
Penetration Plus tips self-sharpen as they wear.

Additionally, you can find hammerless CapSure options for:

Mechanically attached adapter systems (MAA), which use a bolt-in wedge method to tighten a C-clamp. This locks the adapter securely in place every time. The side-pin nose of the bucket tips is designed for CapSure hammerless retention.
CapSure shrouds, which are designed for high-abrasion bucket systems. Most shrouds fit base edges with flush-mount adapters.

CapSure for Dozer Rippers

When choosing CapSure tips for dozer rippers, consider your application and ground conditions:

Centerline ripper tips have wear material on both sides, and you can reverse them to help extend their life.
Short Centerline tips are designed for the toughest applications.
Intermediate Centerline tips work well in less severe conditions.
Penetration ripper tips are best if your work requires breaking through hard surfaces. Choose:
- Long Penetration tips if breakage isn’t a concern.
- Intermediate Penetration tips for more abrasive conditions.

How To Remove CapSure Tips

Use a breaker bar to turn the retainer 180 degrees and unlock it.
Slide the tip off the adapter.
Remove the old pin and retainer from the adapter hole.

How To Install CapSure Tips

Insert the new pin and then the new retainer into the adapter hole.
Slide the tip onto the adapter.
Use the breaker bar to turn the retainer 180 degrees in the opposite direction to lock the tip into place.
