EU/UK Waste Portable and Industrial Batteries

EU Battery Regulation 2023/1542 (EU/EEA) & Waste Batteries and Accumulators Regulations 2009 (UK)

The EU Battery Regulation (EU/EEA), 2023/1542, and The Waste Batteries and Accumulators Regulations (UK), 2009 No.890, set collection, recycling, and recovery targets for all types of batteries placed on the market in the European Economic Area (EEA) and United Kingdom (UK) to protect the environment and public health.

Relative to waste portable and industrial batteries, Caterpillar is EU/EEA & UK country registered and contracted with local compliance schemes for battery market placement reporting, allocated future battery waste fee payment, and product takeback on behalf of the EU/EEA & UK dealers and end use customers.  At end of life (EOL) portable and industrial batteries from products with the Caterpillar, FG Wilson, Perkins, Progress Rail, and Solar Turbine brands marked with the Battery Waste Label - 2023/1542 Annex VI Part B (EU/EEA) or Battery Waste Label (UK) should be turned into the listed compliance schemes for fee free takeback at the end of useful product life.
